Experience
Mark is the head of the firm's workplace relations group as well as conducting a busy regulatory and compliance and litigation practice. Mark has over twenty years' experience in the law and has practised at different times as a barrister, a partner of Mallesons Stephen Jaques and as in-house litigation counsel for Telstra Corporation Ltd.
In employment matters, Mark advises government and private employers and employees across the entire range of workplace-related matters, including executive employment agreements, unfair dismissal and redundancy, OH&S and discrimination. His practice covers many industries including mining and resources, retail, engineering services and others. He appears in courts and tribunals as counsel in employment disputes of all kinds.
Mark's regulatory and compliance practice is diverse and includes acting for both government agencies and regulated businesses and claimants on government in a variety of settings. Mark has considerable experience in advising in relation to complex infrastructure access issues, trade practices issues, vocational regulation, human rights and discrimination and legislative drafting and interpretation. Mark also conducts administrative law litigation in which he has acted for individuals against government agencies in a variety of fields.
In his litigation practice, Mark has appeared as counsel in trials and on appeal, as well as conducting major trials and arbitrations as instructing solicitor. He is well versed in and a strong advocate of the use of early dispute resolution processes to assist his clients to resolve their disputes without litigation. Where Court action is unavoidable, Mark is a skilled advocate. His litigation practice involves commercial litigation as well as personal injuries and estates and trusts.

Qualifications: Master of Laws (Melb), Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) (UWA).
