Summary

• Advised a local company, part of a globally-known organisation, on a proposed franchise system, involving structuring of how the business will work, as well as providing advice to commercial and workplace documentations, and intellectual property of the current company.
• Advised the franchisor and franchisee of an environmentally-friendly car service in terminating agreements and protecting intellectual property belonging to the franchisor. This included advice to complete wind-up of the franchisee, whilst protecting the master franchise system.
• Acted for a national financial services franchise on franchising, trade practices and credit legislative matters and franchise disputes.
• Acted for a well-known coffee franchise, advising the master franchisee on the sale of his franchised business, involving re-drafting commercial documents, and protecting intellectual property.
• Advised a franchisee of a tanning business on the renewal of the franchise agreement and the negotiations with the franchisor with regard to the terms of the new agreement.
• Advised the franchisee of nationally-recognised food service on breach of contract by the franchisor, and provided advice on how to negotiate with the franchisor without harming the business relationship.
• Acted successfully for a national franchisor in relation to various Supreme Court disputes and regulatory and compliance matters.
